Conceived as a grand institution under Clause 6 of the historic Assam Accord to preserve, promote, and propagate the rich cultural identity of the people of Assam, Srimanta Sankaradeva Kalakshetra stands as a living bridge between centuries-old classical traditions and modern preservation.
Named after the towering 15th-century saint, philosopher, dramatist, and social reformer Mahapurusha Srimanta Sankaradeva, the campus fosters the egalitarian spirit of neo-Vaishnavite culture alongside the traditional lore, arts, and crafts of all ethnic tribes and indigenous communities across Northeast India.
